Did you know that out of our 450+ employees, a good number of them come to our company right after school? There are numerous reasons such as a steady flow of customers/clientele, our award-winning ongoing training, and some simply prefer not to work with chemicals, but it’s different for everyone. Below are two of our fantastic recent hires who talk about what drew them to Southeast Clips.

Madison Gibson works in one of our Macon, GA-area salons and, while in school, saw one of our founder’s business presentations called More Money. She then signed up for one of our Clipper Cutting classes and says, “More Money gave me a better understanding of the earning potential and career path with the company, while the cutting class helped boost my confidence with practical techniques I now use daily.”

Her interest in Southeast Clips was piqued so she spoke with a classmate from cosmetology school about what it’s like to work for the Southeast Clips. The classmate shared that it’s a great experience which prompted Madison to request an interview and she was hired.

“My first day at Great Clips was a great experience. The team was supportive, and I immediately felt part of a positive, fast-paced environment where I could continue to grow. I wanted to work at Great Clips because I appreciate the focus on ongoing education, customer satisfaction, and the opportunity to build strong relationships with clients.”

Amanda Blackburn is a stylist in our Oakbrooke salon in the Louisville, KY market and our continued training was a big reason she interviewed with us. She shares, "After completing cosmetology school, I chose Great Clips as my first step into professional styling because I wanted a solid foundation in time management and real-world experience. The high-volume environment offered exactly what a new stylist needs—constant hands-on practice with diverse hair types and styling requests. What really drew me in was their structured training program and the opportunity to build speed and efficiency while maintaining quality.”

Amanda appreciated that Great Clips provides a steady stream of clients right from the start, “That helped me build my confidence and perfect my technical skills without the pressure of having to build my own clientele immediately. Their standardized cutting methods gave me a strong technical foundation, while the fast-paced environment taught me valuable lessons about salon operations and customer service.”

She adds that the flexible scheduling and supportive team environment made the transition from student to professional stylist much smoother and she enjoys the opportunity to work alongside experienced stylists who share their knowledge. “That is invaluable for my professional development."
